A computer keyboard is an input device that allows anyone to enter letters, numbers, and other symbols on a computer. Using the keyboard to enter a lot of data is called typing. The keypad contains various mechanical switches or push buttons called "keys". Most desktop keyboards have five main parts. These elements include the alphanumeric keypad, numeric keypad, arrow keys, command keys, and function keys. The number keys at the top of the keyboard are also located to the right of the keyboard. The character keys are located in the center of the keyboard. The private key, media key, or media key is a keyboard key that performs a special function not included in the traditional 104-key keyboard.
